Catherine Cartwright

Catherine Cartwright is an artist working in printmaking, collage and artist books. She has an MA in Multidisciplinary Printmaking from University of West of England and is a PhD candidate at University of Exeter in cultural geography, with co-supervision at the Centre for Fine Print Research, University of West of England.

Catherine’s research examines how artists can work safely with individuals affected by trauma. For her research she is partnering with Devon Rape Crisis and Sexual Abuse Services (DRCSAS), working with service users on an in-person and an on-line collage project. This year Catherine went through the training to become a Helpline volunteer (DRCSAS) and this has also supported her work as a sensitive researcher.

Catherine continues to exhibit and undertake commissions and residences (see https://catherinecartwright.co.uk/about/ ). She is currently working with the charity Hospital Rooms to make new work for a mental health unit in Torbay Hospital, collaborating with the patients and staff.
