We're very excited to be hosting a creativity in research symposium this October! This event is currently only open to SWWDTP students, though we may open it up to other PhD students if we have spaces available. If this symposium is succesful we may even run a full conference later in the year, so keep following us on Twitter for regular updates.
Creativity in Research: A Creative Symposium
10am to 5pm on Monday 31st October
at Corsham Court, near Bath
Book your place via this form by 14th October! https://bit.ly/CreateCluster
All SWWDTP funded students are welcome to book a place for this in-person creativity in research symposium. (We may open bookings for others if space becomes available)
The day will involve:
An interactive creative collage workshop: Using collage as a tool for research and for overcoming ‘researcher’s block’. Led by cluster member Catherine Cartwright
A short workshop introducing the methods of Poetic Inquiry: To help you conceptualise your research using poetic imagery. Led by cluster member Rachel Carney.
A collaboration speed-dating activity to help you generate ideas for potential creative collaborations with fellow students e.g. a film or exhibition, an article or conference event.
Lots of opportunities to discuss your research and share experiences with fellow DTP students over delicious food, with plenty of coffee breaks throughout the day.
This symposium will also celebrate the publication of a collaborative journal article due to be published very soon in the Journal for Artisitic Research, including work by seven members of the Creativity in Research Cluster.
